The Community Organizer will lead the mobilization and engagement of communities in the implementation of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia project, ensuring inclusive participation, capacity building, and sustainability of interventions. The Community Organizer will work directly with village-level stakeholders, committees, and marginalized populations to facilitate project activities and promote ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collecting and analyzing data on community needs using available primary/secondary data as reference in program planning in work area (Village, District, Regency/City, Province – according to assignment) as well as program recommendations relevant to Habitat’s focus.
  2. Creating and collecting documents as evidence of implementation of all stages project in various form mentioned in proposal, such as photo activity, training reports, absent from activities, Homeowner Profile, Homeowner Testimony, etc.
  3. Perform mapping stakeholders who can work together for program implementation in work region as well as making efforts to develop formal partnership (MOU, program collaboration, etc.).
  4. Perform specific data collection requested by Program Coordinator, Program Officer and/other parties for proposal preparation needs, reports, etc.
  5. Implementing 8 steps of Community Based Housing Development or other procedures mentioned in approved project proposal.
  6. To promote active community participation during program implementation in various forms, including involvement in development committee, Homeowner self-substant in implementation of the accepted program, etc.
  7. Perform effective and efficient project activities in accordance with the Detailed Implemention Plan (DIP) dan Detailed Budget which has been directed by Program Coordinator.
  8. To promote and supervise the implementation of the Feedback and Safeguarding Mechanism during project implementation.
  9. Perform any other tasks assigned by superiors that are relevant to Habitat project.
  10. Planning and implementing training activity and other non-construction in project by prioritizing cooperation with related Technical OPD from Local Government.
  11. Other duties consistent with the overall focus of HFHI as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to collect and analyze community needs data using primary and secondary sources.
  2. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
  3. Conduct mapping of needs and provide program recommendations.
  4. Ability to identify stakeholders (government, community, NGOs) and stablish formal partnerships (MoU, program collaboration).
  5. Understanding of Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and Detailed Budget. Ability to manage project activities effectively and efficiently according to plan.
  6. Ability to prepare activity reports, photo documentation, attendance lists, beneficiary profiles, and testimonials.
  7. Competence in preparing periodic reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
  8. Ability to plan and implement non-construction training activities (community-based training).
  9. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and ability to implement complaint mechanisms that are safe and responsive.
  10. Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  11. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  12. Basic understanding of infrastructure.
  13. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia; Javanese language proficiency is an asset.
  14. Strong communication skills for engaging with communities, government, donors, and stakeholders.
  15. Ability to organize field activities and coordinate with project teams (Construction Supervisor, Finance Officer, Program Officer, MEAL).
  16. Ability to adapt to local socio-cultural contexts.
  17. Ability to address challenges in the field quickly and effectively.

Other:

Willing to be based at project site in Gunung Kidul Regency, with regular travel to Habitat Indonesia site office in Jogjakarta.
