Jakarta, 21 Juli 2009: Last Tuesday, PT Asuransi CIGNA launched the “CIGNA & YOU for Indonesia”, CSR Program at RNI Building’s auditorium, level 6, Kuningan, Jakarta.
With CIGNA’s mission, “To help the people we serve improve their health, well – being and security”, CIGNA commits to build a long term and sustainable CSR program (Corporate Social Responsibility) – to gives back to the community surround them. The direction towards this CSR Program is based under the platform of “Basic Essentials” (clean water, safe shelter & sustainable community). Where further in Indonesia, CIGNA proceed this under the campaign of “CIGNA & YOU for Indonesia”. This program will involve and engage all employees of PT. Asuransi CIGNA – to have strong ownership of the spirit, to care and to share.
In this project, CIGNA will conduct various corporate fundraising events, and the proceeds will be donated through Habitat for Humanity Indonesia to build 5 simple and decent houses for families in need in Indonesia. Both Habitat and CIGNA agree to start on 22 July 2009 and will be ceased on the 31st day of March, 2010. It will toned up the CIGNA’s 20th anniversary also in 2010!
This project will conduct fundraising events and be organized by CIGNA employees including charity bazaar, photo/art exhibition and many other special events. “We open a booth and all income from it will be donated for this program, which we’re going to collect it until next year”, says Mrs. Nefo Djadjati, Human Resource Director of PT Asuransi CIGNA, in her speech.
Many ideas have been collected consecutively. For instance, one of their employees, Lenny, has 3 shelves of Japanese comics and other employees who have Japanese comics are suggested to submit the comic to her. “All employee may borrow the comic with Rp.1,000, and all of it will be donated to Habitat”, added Nefo Djadjati. She wished that all of her employees will actively involve in this program and fundraise as many as they can. Not only that, they even suggested that the employees donate Rp.10,000 per person after every consecutive month. “With the total number of 1,300 employees, we may build a house!”, said Nefo.
At the end, the launching ceremony was marked by signing board between PT Asuransi CIGNA & Habitat for Humanity Indonesia.
