Banda Aceh 22 July 2006. Habitat for Humanity Indonesia Banda Aceh Disaster Response Tsunami Centre did not only build Homes for Tsunami Survivors but HFH Indonesia also reconstructed the Community Centre. The Community Centre was built in Emperom Village, Sub District of Jaya Baru, Banda Aceh. This building was funded by PT. Dow Chemical Indonesia, a local arm of Dow Chemical and one of global supporters of Habitat for Humanity International and Habitat for Humanity Indonesia.

According to the Head of Village, Amri Daud, the community centre is a place for informal and formal meetings among villagers for social and community activities for the youth, women and men. With the reconstruction of the community center, HFH Indonesia can help to serve around 500 families in this village.
